One of the properties of seas that has only recently been discovered is related in a verse of the Qur’an as follows:

This property of the seas, that is, that they meet and yet do not intermix, has only very recently been discovered by oceanographers. Because of the physical force called “surface tension,” the waters of neighbouring seas do not mix. Caused by the difference in the density of their waters, surface tension prevents them from mingling with one another, just as if a thin wall were between them.60
It is interesting that, during a period when there was little knowledge of physics, and of surface tension, or oceanography, this truth was revealed in the Qur’an.

As example the scene was selected in which D.A. quotes… developments, adaptions, and improvements of species,… a popular way to make things clear in his marvellous documentary.
However here he deviates from reality (as so many did before). It may sound like nibbling about words, but minor details often lead to major consequences.
Evolution emerges due to the fact that each generation of species has small differences in properties.
The Total environment determinates which individuals will breed more and multiply their properties while other breed less and will slowly disappear.
If you put several stages of evolution as pictures chronologic after each other, you get a fast film showing species developing, although this is comparable with the optical illusion while watching a common movie.
The crucial fact in evolution however is the fact that properties changes.
The mystery lies in the genetic material, the genes.
At least physically, each individual basically cannot develop more than what is in its genes.
Compare it simply with a modern washing machine. The machine may do all crazy things, but in fact does nothing more than what the technician once putted into the control chip. Unless someone changes this chip, the machine will not become more brilliant.
Intolerable, extreme cruel experiments of Nazi scientists in the World War II era brought the sensitive matter of genetics rather in a taboo zone for a while.
Controlling the full functionality of genetic material of all living organisms, in the future, will bring mankind almost on the level of a God over nature.
Many groups and powerful people are opposed to this evolution. This is understandable, it is not because these people would be more stupid than others. It is just a basic nature of us all. We protect the habitat in which we live and believe, try to maintain the powers we own, as long as these are comfortable for ourselves.
The discovery of penicillin, even not so very long time ago, was a giant milestone in controlling life on earth.
Genetic control will become a second milestone, on an exponential higher level.
Without, there is no cure or solution for; virus-, most bacterial- and genetic deceases, cancer, handicaps, generating organs, aging, food for a still exploding world population…

Origin of life:
Evidence suggests that life on Earth has existed for about 3.7 billion years. All known life forms share fundamental molecular mechanisms, and based on these observations, theories on the origin of life attempt to find a mechanism explaining the formation of a primordial single cell organism from which all life originates.
There are many different hypotheses regarding the path that might have been taken from simple organic molecules via pre-cellular life to protocells and metabolism. Many models fall into the “genes-first” category or the “metabolism-first” category, but a recent trend is the emergence of hybrid models that combine both categories.
There is no scientific consensus as to how life originated and all proposed theories are highly speculative. However, most currently accepted scientific models build in one way or another on the following hypotheses:
* The Miller-Urey experiment, and the work of Sidney Fox, suggest that that conditions on the primitive Earth may have favored chemical reactions that synthesized some amino acids and other organic compounds from inorganic precursors.
* Phospholipids spontaneously form lipid bilayers, the basic structure of a cell membrane.
Life as we know it today synthesizes proteins, which are polymers of amino acids using instructions encoded by cellular genes—which are polymers of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Protein synthesis also entails intermediary ribonucleic acid (RNA) polymers.
One possibility is that genes came first and then proteins. Another possibility is that proteins came first and then genes. However, because genes are required to make proteins, and proteins are required to make genes, the problem of considering which came first is like that of the chicken or the egg. Most scientists have adopted the hypothesis that because DNA and proteins function together so intimately, it’s unlikely that they arose independently.
Therefore, many scientists consider the possibility, apparently first suggested by Francis Crick, that the first life was based on the DNA-protein intermediary: RNA.
In fact, RNA has the DNA-like properties of information storage and replication and the catalytic properties of some proteins. Crick and others actually favored the RNA-first hypothesis even before the catalytic properties of RNA had been demonstrated by Thomas Cech.

MANDELBROT FRACTALS/PATTERNS: Although Mandelbrot coined the term fractal, some of the mathematical objects he presented in The Fractal Geometry of Nature had been described by other mathematicians. Before Mandelbrot, they had been regarded as isolated curiosities with unnatural and non-intuitive properties. Mandelbrot brought these objects together for the first time and turned them into essential tools for the long-stalled effort to extend the scope of science to non-smooth objects in the real world. He highlighted their common properties, such as self-similarity (linear, non-linear, or statistical), scale invariance, and a (usually) non-integer Hausdorff dimension.
He also emphasized the use of fractals as realistic and useful models of many “rough” phenomena in the real world. Natural fractals include the shapes of mountains, coastlines and river basins; the structures of plants, blood vessels and lungs; the clustering of galaxies; and Brownian motion. Fractals are found in human pursuits, such as music, painting, architecture, and stock market prices. Mandelbrot believed that fractals, far from being unnatural, were in many ways more intuitive and natural than the artificially smooth objects of traditional Euclidean geometry:

THE WATCHMAKER ARGUMENT is a teleological argument for the existence of God. By way of an analogy, the argument states that design implies a designer. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the analogy was used (by Descartes and Boyle, for instance) as a device for explaining the structure of the universe and God’s relationship to it. Later, the analogy played a prominent role in natural theology and the “argument from design,” where it was used to support arguments for the existence of God and for the intelligent design of the universe.
The most famous statement of the teleological argument using the watchmaker analogy was given by William Paley in 1802. Paley’s argument was seriously challenged by Charles Darwin’s formulation of the theory of natural selection, and how it combines with mutation to improve survivability of a species, even a new species. In the United States, starting in the 1980s, the concepts of evolution and natural selection (usually referred to by opponents as “Darwinism”) became the subject of a concerted attack by Christian creationists. This attack included a renewed interest in, and defense of, the watchmaker argument by the intelligent design movement.
