I came upon a new kind of information lately. I am a christian, and Ive finally thought a good, and scientific question for you guys. You guys probably knew this but you do realise that there are other scientist in the world that completely and utterly believe in the existence of GOD, namely the quantum physics, and bio-physics mechanics guys. They are basically the guys that study the cosmos and its physical properties, and basically work together with large institutions such as NASA, and others. You must agree that they are notable in their intellect and I guess their reputation precedes them. Yet, unlike all evolutionary, darwin based scientists, and obviously atheists, quantum physics over the years not only has brought more light of whats going on in the universe, but constantly keeps them stating and directly commenting the existence of GOD being in the unverse and everywhere. Now, dont mix that with religion, as I also disagree with religion, but completly believe with whats written in the BIBLE being right and true.
My question however, is if why continuing on asking us to prove the existence of GOD while all along you have members of the scientific world that arent even christian, pouring theyre years and time of studies to in the end confess that GOD exists?
Hello Some Dude, try and learn how to type in English. Thanks.

No, you obviously agree with religion. Don’t try to pass Christianity off as some "special relationship with god". It’s a religion just like any other
>why continuing on asking us to prove the existence of GOD while all along you have members of the scientific world that arent even christian, pouring theyre years and time of studies to in the end confess that GOD exists?
Because they want proof of a god. It’s fine and dandy if some scientists are trying to prove a god’s existence even if they aren’t Christian, but they’ve yet to provide any real evidence. Just because a scientist thinks that there is a god, it doesn’t mean there is one. Atheists don’t always agree with the individual opinions of EVERY scientist.

Uhh, yeah? We know that there are believers in God who are helping advance science.
Hell, a bishop was the one who suggested the Big Bang theory. Or was it just a normal priest?
Where exactly did you think you were going to take this?

quantum physics proves ‘conscious awareness’ is an actual property of the universe
and studying the subject has only strengthened my belief that god/gods ain’t real.
someone once said "not only is the universe queerer than we suppose, it is queerer than we *can suppose"
and you still haven’t made a valid argument that your god is real.

What interpretation of Quantum mechanics do you refer to?
Bells theorem? and the interpretation/loophole of that that leads us to super determinism?
Maybe you one of the more hockey popular extrapolations from the Copenhagen interpretation that hippies whine on about to say we all create our own reality and we are actually the gods?
There is no one giant consensus in this area or physics. Indeed us living in a zero energy flat universe where sub atomic particles constantly come into existence from nothing has been used as an argument against god.

Wow. You really came up with this? If that’s true, you must be 5, or have an intellect level of a 5 year old.
Logical fallacy: Appeal to authority
Atheists =/= Scientists
Yet, you ignore the fact that many other scientists don’t believe in God. Stephen Hawking, Michio Kaku, Richard Dawkin, etc do not believe in a God. Does that change your mind?
Then do you think that will change ours?

Aaand?
I don’t care what scientists believe. I don’t care what anyone believes. I just want to be free to believe what I want to believe.

You are right, agnostic scientists had a very hard time trying to prove that the universe has always existed, that there wasn’t a one-time beginning until the big bang theory was proven true. The proof forced them to admit that the universe started to exist, but they don’t know the course. Obviously, they are not prepared to follow the evidence where it leads…
It brought Stephen Hawking to admit: " There must be religious overtones. But I think most scientists prefer to shy away from the religious side of it.”
Edit: Mata, it wasn’t a bishop, lol! The big bang theory developed as a result of Einstein’s theory of general relativity, and the person who took it further was astrophysicist George Smoot who finally proved it true with the COBE satellite. Sir Fred Hoyle was the one who coined the term, the big bang.

>>try and answer this…<<
It’s "try to," not "try and." Learn to use proper grammar.
First, you conveniently neglected to specify the percentage of scientists who believe in god, and second, in any case it doesn’t matter. How many smart, well-educated people believe in god is irrelevant – what’s relevant is that there exists not a single shred of evidence for the existence of a god.

I too am religious, but this question is moreover statements based on most likely what you red on a Christian website in other words I don’t believe your statements, however I’m not exactly bashing you. I come onto this site to strengthen my own beliefs by learning the beliefs of others and when somebody questions something I believe in or a good question is presented it helps me too.
Now the reason I said that about the website is to educate you to not believe everything you read. I can make up a website and say anything I want it to say for example lets just call my website the UniversityofChristianstudies.org or how about Chistianscience.com, then lets just say i wrote on their saying 80% of all scientists are Christian according to the US census. Some people will fall for this, but its all made up.
Now don’t worry about all that their is actually a huge amount of Christian scientist, you can even look throughout history and discover most of the most well known scientist were religious; I’m not going to go into details just look up any scientist you know, most likely they were religious.
Now to answer your question. First off there are scientists that try to prove the existence of a God as well as against a God, heck there are scientists working for the Vatican.
But you ask why question, my question to you is why not. Are you scared they will find something? Its human nature is to question everything, if you don’t believe me spend some time with some little kids. They ask allot of questions.
(to all the Atheists out their I mean no disrespect, but I am a believer) Another reason why I want them to keep on trying to disprove God is because they might find out more about God, maybe their are more books are out there or even the Holy grail.

It’s true that there is a move by science towards excepting the existence of a God because of recent discoveries made in quantum, astro and bio physics. But and here’s a big but. The scientists concept of a God may be very different to that of any religion. An example of this is a renowned scientist I heard on the internet radio talking about God. He said it is possible and even likely that something of the sort exists but doubts if it has any interest in human affairs and would not be a personal God.
Here’s another big BUT for you. My story. I have been supported and helped by God. It has made it’s presence profoundly known to me. I survived an illness that should have killed me, in fact my medical records went for research. I have had many spiritual and psychic experiences and know that God exists and know that it encouraged me to keep on fighting my battle with a fatal illness that went undiagnosed for years. Yes, I prayed and Yes, I dipped into the Bible. But, NO, I am not religious, was never brought up religious, didn’t go to church regularly and was never christened. This God that helped me was neither male nor female as far as I could tell, never physically appeared but could communicate without sound or language but make its self perfectly understood. It didn’t seem to care that I had no religion and was never christened.
What it did seem to care about was that I struggled alone with the illness and all the suffering it caused and it wanted me to survive, but it was always, always my choice.

Just read a couple of the answers. Steven Hawkins has not dismissed the idea of a "God" existing but won’t be drawn on the subject. Richard Dawkins also said God may exist and could very well be a highly, super advanced alien of some kind. I heard his say it on youtube The thing is whether the scientists believe in God or not they are not going to fall for the traditional interpretation but come to a more logical, scientific understanding of it, if possible. I personally am not oppossed to the idea that what I encountered could be some very, very advance alien life form that matches certain descriptions in the Bible. It certainly didn’t give me a description or definition of itself. which incidently is lacking in the Bible as well.

Many scientists "believe" in a god, but no one has yet to prove it. And you will discover that most absolutely DO NOT believe in the christian god. Also, the bible has been proved to be nothing more than a fairy tale.
